This dress would not have been possible without the development of 3D printing. The first image is an example of a single birth control pill designed on 3D modeling software 123D Design. Once the model was made and converted to an STL, the file was formatted to print. The 3D printer prints 20 pills every 17 minutes. This Pill Packet Dress includes over 2,000 pills quilted into 1" pouches. The back quilted sheets of the dress can be viewed in the second image. The components of this dress include 3D printed pills, clear vinyl, thread and a zipper.
